Equipment

My Thriller takes place in several environments, and thus several pieces of different equipment will be required to make the final product.

Nikon D3200

The majority of filming will be done with this DSLR, the Nikon D3200. It is capable of shooting at 1080p and has a 24 megapixel sensor and a large image sensor ensuring colour depth and depth of field at very high quality. The camera itself is light and fairly mobile making filming easy with it. The majority of filming on this camera will be done with the use of a tripod/stabiliser so I don't have to worry about handheld shots being "too shaky". This camera is also unique because unlike most DSLRs which can only film on average, a maximum of 12 minutes continuously, this can film for 20 minutes. I mention this, because this makes this Camera ideal for my time lapse as I will not have to merge more than three clips together. I will only be using a standard 18-55mm lens on this camera.

Underwater GoPro HD Black Edition
This camera will be used primarily, if not only, for the underwater footage that shows the little girl (victim) drowning. This camera is suitable for the underwater footage as it is designed with water and other action type scenarios in mind. It is light making it easy to manoeuvre underwater and can film in full HD and even full 4k. The quality of the footage is almost unparalleled by any camera of its size and stature.

Steadicam/Stabiliser
I have also invested in a stabiliser for the Nikon D3200. The purpose of this device is to detach any movement from your wrist to the camera, in theory resulting in stable smooth moving shots. This is important to my thriller because I intend on utilising movement in several places.
